Spring has definitely sprung into summer here!

Hi Everyone!!

Spring has definitely sprung into summer here! It was HOT yesterday….but boy, did I enjoy it!

I don't usually have the time to attend other concerts, but was so excited about listening to Michael Martin Murphey in Chandler, OK on 4/16. My friends Gary & Debbie Kinslow, and Carol Ervin went to listen…. It was a fantastic concert - I enjoyed "Murph's" stories, guitar picking, and his vast song list. He is so talented and was very warm and friendly to us. He even asked me to sing on a new cd he is planning to record! Yea!

After I stayed the night with my friends, Denna & Calvin Mays in Guthrie, OK, I drove on over to the farming community of Fairview. The heart and hospitality of the people of Fairview, Oklahoma and Fairview Savings and Loan was emormous. They hosted a barbeque and concert for the community on Friday night in celebration of their 100 Year Anniversary. Many people attended and were blessed. Thanks to Michael & Susie Barney who hosted me in their home & Russell (President of the bank) & Melissa Pembrook who invited me to come and perform the concert (and bought coffee the next morning). Will have pictures soon on the website!

I then drove down to Turkey, TX and got to stay in the Turkey Hotel (LOVED IT! Built in 1927). Now Turkey's not even close to my hometown of Atoka in size, but it has lots of character and class. I totally enjoyed celebrating the 38th Annual Bob Wills Days…met lots of nice people (many who are ancestors of Bob), and heard fabulous music….last day for the festivities is this Saturday…so you still have time to go! The show from The Church of Western Swing will be shown on Cowboy Church, RFD in July or August.

I will be singing a couple songs at the 12th Annual Cowboys for Kids Benefit for the Children's Advocacy Center, Friday, April 24, Norris Arena, Keene, TX. www.cowboysforkids-jc.org

Ooooh! and don't forget….Cannon Beach, OR May 1-3. I love Cannon Beach! If you've never been to the Cannon Beach Conference Center and attended one of their conferences….well, you haven't enjoyed a slice of heaven that's available to you!!!

May God continue to bless and keep you,

Never Alone

From the 2009 Wapanucka, OK Alumni Banquet

I hope you had a wonderful Easter weekend

Hi Everyone!

I hope you had a wonderful Easter Weekend! We got some much needed spring rain and it has really rejuvenated our pastures!

I enjoyed my time in neighboring town Wapanucka, OK singing for the Alumni - lots of people in attendance and we had a great time…SO MUCH visiting and "sizing up wrinkles" going on there!

Lucchese has gone back home…we had a wonderful time. She enjoyed being able to be in the country again and driving Samuel's pickup with a stick shift - the simple life feels good when you've been in the big city for a while. Samuel is in California going to some rodeos; E.P. is feeding cattle and REALLY appreciates the rain.

Just a reminder if you are in our area here in SE Oklahoma: Cowboy Church at Limestone Gap is EVERY Tuesday night! Come for potluck supper at 6:30 and service to start at 7:00. 17 miles North of Atoka (red barn on your left); or approximately 10 miles south of Kiowa (red barn on your right).

I will be in Fairview, OK Friday night and then Turkey, TX on Sunday night. Please check the website www.susieluchsinger.com for time/place.

Thank you for your responses to these letters. It's good to know they are being read - we appreciate your prayers and support.

God bless you!

When we are comforted by God, then we are equipped to comfort those around us.

Hello Everybody!

I hope you are well today. I have friends in different parts of the country and many of you are experiencing anything from snow, thunderstorms with hail/heavy rain/tornadoes, perfect warm/spring weather to extreme drought. Our prayers are with you.

I had a wonderful time in the great Northwest!!! Folks up there are extremely warm and hospitable: I was able to sing in these Oregon towns….Prineville, Newport, Lafayette, Unionvale, and Carlton – thank you for having me come to sing and Thank You for coming to hear me.

My mama is recovering nicely after back surgery. It’s gonna be a long 4 weeks til she can get out and around and that’s tough on her because it’s spring and she gets fishing fever about this time of year! I thank God for a great surgeon who was able to fix what had been undone for many years and causing lots of pain.

Sunday morning, I will be with the Cowboy Church film crew and Russ Weaver at Shepherd’s Valley Cowboy Church, Egan, Texas for both services beginning at 8:30 am.

Meanwhile, I am SO looking forward to Lucchese coming home for a visit! E.P. is busy clearing land, feeding cattle, and selling some rock; Samuel is on the rodeo trail.

This Saturday night I will be in my hometown of Atoka, OK participating in a benefit concert for Sherry Havener at the Community Center at 6 pm. If you are in the area, I would strongly encourage you to attend and support this family. Sherry’s husband Steve is pastor of Southside Baptist Church here in Atoka.

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God. For as we share abundantly in Christ’s sufferings, so through Christ we share abundantly in comfort, too. 2Corinthians 2-5

When we are comforted by God, then we are equipped to comfort those around us.

May God continue to equip you in every way,

Susie McEntire Luchsinger
