Happy August!

Happy August Everybody!!

At the time of writing this letter, I am on a Southwest Airlines flight leaving Portland and headed to Denver. After we stay the night there, my neighbor, Carol and I will drive home after being gone since July 18th. To say the least, it’s been a great trip - one you can “sort of “ track by going to the website and looking at all the pictures we took along the way.

My son, E.P. and I were able to make the trip to Farmington, NM to watch my youngest son, Samuel (19) in the National High School Finals Rodeo in Farmington, NM. Samuel was 12 seconds on his first calf and missed his second, but we enjoyed the time together and even managed to spend some time with fellow teammates and their families floating down the Animas River in Durango, CO. see www.susieluchsinger.com for photos. Rodeo is a sport that continues to keep you around the same families, generation after generation. For example, Samuel rodeos with Tanner Braden. Tanner’s grandfather competed in rodeo with Samuel’s grandfather, and their uncles also competed against each other. It’s one big family.

Lucchese was blessed to be able to go to Bora Bora with her Aunt Reba and I haven’t gotten a report on how the trip went, but I’m sure it was awesome!!!

My time in Cheyenne, Wyoming was a one day visit but extremely busy! With a service at the rodeo, the depot, and then the North Christian Church – I was more than ready to have some time off at Farmington.

Hayes Center, Nebraska was, and is always a blessing to me. 1300 people in the county, and most are at the Hayes County Fair on Wednesday night. We had a great time and the folks were very warm (literally, too) and friendly. We stayed in the home of Dave & Mary Gibbons and enjoyed a wonderful meal and lots of visiting.

We had the 17th annual concert at the Antelope Community Church in Antelope, Oregon on August 3. Over 1000 people attended and enjoyed the north central Oregon countryside. If you want to take a beautiful vacation, go to Eastern Oregon!!! Thanks to Dan & Jeanne Carver for the room and board!!!

Upcoming dates: Milam County Cowboy Church in Rockdale, TX on August 10; Ranch Round-up, Wichita Falls, Texas on August 17; Community Fellowship Church, Hammons, Oklahoma on August 31.

Finally! I am going to start the new album August 27 with the recording of the instrumental tracks – I would really appreciate your prayers that I would be able to select the perfect songs for this album. One song that I co-wrote with my niece, Autumn Sizemore, will for sure be on this cd. This compilation is “on my ticket” and we will be making the cd available for pre-sell soon.

South Dakota bronc rider, Julian Wichert is gonna get a visit from me and my friends this afternoon. Julian is in the hospital in Denver ever since he sustained injuries after his ride in Cheyenne, Wyoming. Please be in prayer for him and his family.

Things are going well for Cowboy Church on RFDtv. We are in search of sponsors/supporters/advertisers for the show. It’s very expensive to travel and film each episode. We appreciate your prayers & support. We continue to get really positive feedback. Our time slot will change in September – will keep you informed, but be sure to check your local listings.

Registration is open for our 3rd Annual Pamper Me ladies retreat to be held November 7 & 8 in my hometown of Atoka, OK. Go to www.susieluchsinger.com to register. We guarantee a great time!!!

May God continue to bless and keep you always!

In Christ,
Susie McEntire Luchsinger

p.s. thanks for your prayers concerning my family – we are doing great.
