Let's Take What God Has Blessed Us With and Make It Count

Hi Everybody!!
It’s icy in my part of the world today. We are all ok, it’s thawing AND was absolutely beautiful to look at!

I want to thank the First Presbyterian Church of Haines City, Florida for having me as a guest singer in their church last weekend. I enjoyed the singing of Carrie Widener, Triumphant, The Oak Grove Quartet, Mike Speck Trio, and The Chuck Wagon Gang – what great singing!!
I return to Rapid City, South Dakota this weekend. If you are planning to be there, the services are each Sunday, February 1 & 8 in the Civic Center Theatre at 11 am.

Cowboy Church on RFDtv this Sunday will feature Triple Cross Cowboy Church in Granbury, TX. We had a great service there and I was able to share my testimony with the people. www.cowboychurch.tv

Yesterday, while peeling a potato to put into the breakfast burritos I was fixing, the memory came back to my mind how my mama would be able to peel her potatoes SO THIN. I remembered that they grew their own food, so with all the work that entailed, food was very precious to them and you just didn’t waste anything. As I peeled this potato, my peelings were thicker, and I was using my paring knife instead of my other “peeler” because I was in too much of a hurry. BUT as I peeled, I noticed I was wasting a lot of potato that was going into the trash instead of the frying pan.

Then, God impressed me that this is the way we’ve been in America for the past several decades. We’ve been wasteful, impatient, negligent and VERY spoiled. We are a society that was raised on a “Burger King” mentality and now we have to be trained to be better stewards of what God has given us. I told a friend of mine my “revelation” and she said, “First of all, who nowadays PEELS a potato?!”. I had to agree.

I challenged you in my last letter to never quit giving to God….now I challenge you AND ME to be better stewards so we can give more to God and take care of our families, friends, and neighbors. Let’s don’t depend on the government, let’s take what God has blessed us with and make it count, giving Him all the glory.

I hope to see you in Rapid City this year.
In Christ,
