Let your love flow like rivers of Living Water

Hi Everyone!!

Just a short letter to say hi and hope you all are doing well. With the elections coming up soon, the stock market ups and downs, high fuel prices, decisions on whether to take the flu shot or not, paper or plastic, etc……life can get "a lot" overwhelming these days.

That's why I love to read the devotional book of Oswald Chambers', My Utmost for His Highest. September 6th is my all-time favorite to go back to time and time again. It's based on John 7:38, "If anyone thirsts, let him come to me and drink. Rivers of living water will brim and spill out of the depths of anyone who believes in me this way.." From The Message.

From that I get this: no matter what happens in this life that causes me to continue to need and thirst for Christ and so drink of Him, then out of me will flow rivers of living water – water that will help, comfort, encourage, and benefit those around me. (Reminds me of the windmill) If I'm not thirsting and drinking, then I have absolutely nothing to share with those around me. They don't even benefit from my countenance - which is an outward expression of my inward condition.

Oswald says and I'm quoting him here: "A river touches places of which its source knows nothing, and Jesus says if we have received of His fullness, however small the visible measure of our lives, out of us will flow the rivers that will bless to the uttermost parts of the earth. We have nothing to do with the outflow…….(this is the work of God that you believe)…God rarely allows a soul to see how great a blessing he is."
